Rawlin's Mill
The Kittitians are proud of their history and have preserved numerous plantation estates that have been lovingly restored. Here is an example of a sugar mill on Rawlings Plantation currently being used as a charming honeymoon suite.

Great Salt Pond

Batik Artist
Romney Manor, another beautiful plantation is also home of the Batik Factory where a Kittitian woman practices a traditional craft. Visitors can purchase batik clothing, fabric and other gifts at the store on the premises.

Independence Square
Independence Square fountain marks the city center in the capitol Basseterre with its museums, fascinating history and distinct examples of Caribbean architecture. The charming city center is alive with activity: school children having a lunch break, Kittitians taking care of business and visitors shopping and dining in the square.

Street Vendors
Saturday is market day on the island where vendors sell their fresh fruits and vegetables. Local fishermen can also be seen on the wharf selling their catch of the day.
